If you are feeling like seeing a medical herbalist you probably have something that is worrying you. These protocols are aimed to help a person get ready with information to start a healing journey. PIease look at the following flowchart which shows seeing your doctor as your first action. To get the small text larger I split the diagram into two sections. 

So what can you do to help yourself and when might you need to see me for a consultation?

I have found that people can create their own food diaries better than filling in pre made forms, below is a suggested table to copy. Food may be linked to your symptoms and to mood. 

Please use the numbers from 0 (as good as it can be) to 6 (as bad as it can be).

Include anything else that may be relevant to your health too for a useful record of your health. Hopefully this will allow you to see for yourself how to manage your condition.

MOOD, SLEEP, SYMPTOM, MEDICATION DIARIES

Its an idea to include how you feel (mood), how you slept (hours &or quality) and a record of the symptoms or problems you are having. You can also use the above method for recording how herbal medicines and other medications you are taking make you feel.You can use this 0-6 scale for lots of things.

It is really helpful for you, your herbalist and for doctors to record how you are doing. It also shows that you are serious and with the numbers you can quantify your symptoms. mood over time. A method of data collection using these 0-6 numbers is called MYMOP.
